CREAM

Online Risk Forecasting and Modelling

Our Country Risk Evaluation and Assessment Model (CREAM) is an industry-leading online country intelligence model. The system models War, Terrorism, Civil Unrest and Political Risk in every country, providing our key forecasts for each of these over 30-day, one-year and three-year time periods.

Risk Summaries and Risk Indices

In each country, we maintain a summary page with the key risks, key upcoming and past events and the risk score for the 30-day, one-year and three-year outlook for war, terrorism, civil unrest and political risks. This risk index enables the comparison of different risk types within a country, the same risk over time within a country and risk levels between different countries. CREAM also provides clients the historical data on the movement of these risk scores.

Assessments, Briefs and Historical Data

Assessments are topical, thematic analyses of a particular issue that allow clients to gain an immediate understanding of the resulting threats or opportunities to them. Risk briefs are asset, sector or location-specific forecasts. Each brief contains detailed intelligence supporting the risk ratings, and briefs are streamed by risk type and sector to ensure users have easy
access to relevant intelligence for their specific interests.

Historical data is provided in the form of a searchable database of past risk-relevant events (for instance, terrorist attacks or plots, economic policy announcements or regulatory changes, strikes or riots, military deployments or procurements). CREAM currently contains over 6,000 decision-ready assessments and briefs supported by data on over 350,000 risk relevant events.

Interactive Country, City and Route Risk Mapping

In high threat countries and cities, CREAM models risk at specific asset locations using our innovative Interactive Risk Maps. Individual country maps show ‘risk clouds’ (the level of risk indicated by historical incidents in specific areas). The maps can also be customised to show the scale of risk by asset type. Selected high risk cities are ascribed risk ratings according to likely scenarios and casualty estimates along with a relative risk value, also in the form of a risk cloud. Route maps show the risk clouds overlaid on rail and road transport routes to allow users to identify the relative risks of moving cargo or personnel by different routes.
